The SkyFox Limited office in Sierra Leone is located at 80 Campbell Street right in the city of Freetown, the country’s capital. The branch was officially incorporated in the Office of the Administrator and Registrar General on the 19th of September 2015.
With a staff strength of seventeen, SkyFox has been able to execute WASH Infrastructure development under the STEWARD Program and the Securing Water For Food Project in Sierra Leone.
The WASH Infrastructure Development Project was started in 2016. SkyFox was sub-contracted by METI to design and construct climate-resilient WASH facilities for schools and communities under the STEWARD Programme. During this period, SkyFox introduced the EcoSafe Toilet within the sub region benefiting a total number of 549 pupils and teachers. The toilet facility ranging from 3/4-seater for boys and girls was constructed in three (3) schools in Karene District formerly called Bombali District. The water infrastructure development also included borehole drilling and rehabilitation, installation of limited mechanized systems, gravity systems and surface water treatment, which benefitted a total of 8,804 beneficiaries in fourteen (14) communities within the Karene District.
SkyFox is also implementing the Integrated Aquaculture and Crop Production Project across the country through the Securing Water for Food grant (SWFF). Under this project, SkyFox is currently partnering with Njala University to implement one component of the SWFF project, which is the production of improved catfish fingerlings. The partnership with the university is also aiming at providing a conducive training ground for students studying aquaculture and researchers interested in that field. The total target beneficiaries for this project is 39,055 wherein the crop farming accounts for 5,261 and the fish farming accounts for 33,795. Before this project, there was no known suppliers of improved fingerlings in the entire country for commercial purpose.
